A reflection on our evolution and milestones.
The NextWave Magazine didn’t start in a boardroom; it began in the streets, the studios, and the front rows of South Africa’s most electric underground scenes. We saw a shift happening—a new generation of artists, DJs, and creators who weren't waiting for permission to change the world. They were already doing it.
We realized that, while the talent was undeniable, a dedicated platform was needed to capture the noise. We wanted to build more than just a magazine; we wanted to create a digital home for the culture—a place where the "New Wave" could finally be seen, heard, and celebrated.
Our mission is simple: to document the evolution of South African sound and style. From the rise of Amapiano global dominance to the grit of the local hip-hop scene and the visionaries shaping our fashion, we are here to tell the stories of those who are currently "making waves."
At The NextWave, we don’t just report on what’s happening—we live it. We are curators of the future, committed to giving a voice to the innovators and a spotlight to the legends in the making.
